Dr. Mele grew up and proudly completed all his education in Northern California. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with high honors from the University of California at Davis. He remained at the University of California Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA, for his Medical Degree and Surgical Internship. He finished his General Surgical Residency at San Joaquin General Hospital in Stockton, including a year as Chief Surgical Resident. Dr. Mele then completed his Plastic Surgery training with a Fellowship at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco.

Dr. Mele maintains active membership at San Ramon Regional Medical Center and both John Muir Medical Center campuses – in the cities of Walnut Creek and Concord, CA. He served four years as chairman of the Plastic Surgery Division at John Muir Walnut Creek, which is located right across the street from his office.
