Dear Chrissy: Scar revisions come in many flavours. I have a series off articles on Scar Revisions here on the San Francisco Plastic Surgery Blog. A depressed scar can be caused be tethering of the scar of the scar to a deeper structure (often muscle), or from loss of volume beneath the scar (from trauma or separation of the deeper tissues). Treatment is dictated by the cause. Sometimes scar revision and local tissue rearrangement is sufficient; sometime volume needs to be added, for example with fat grafting beneath the scar. The only way to know is to consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area.

I have been left with a bad scar from a revisit breast surgery, the scar pulls inwards and is very hard,the surgoen is saying it is the way i have healed! can you help i have seen your work and am impressed with the correction you did for hypertrophic scar revision
